Melbourne, Vic. Australasian Quilt Convention 2011.

How Amazing is this Quilt?

Sandstorm over the white desert

After a hearty breakfast at The European  we were off to the Australasian Quilt Convention nearby, in Carlton Gardens. Plenty of calories were burnt up as we walked around. As you can see I liked the landscape quilts best by Jenny Bowker & Ruth de Vos & the brilliant patterns by Carol Taylor. We couldn’t have scones here as we were revisiting the Hopetoun Tea rooms for lunch, to sustain us for the flight back home tonight. The Royal Exhibition building is wonderfully for this type of exhibition as it is so ornate & spacious. Have a look at my fellow sconquester’s quilt blog if you would like more details on the quilts. There were so many stalls & things to see but I somehow found myself chatting with the lady from Chocolate Coated Fabrics. Funny that! At least we were able to relax & just take our time today.
